Celebrating 3-21!! International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination Carnival 2010

On 20 March, thousands of people had joined Unison's annual cultural carnival held at Tsim Sha Tsui harbourfront. Our performers consists of people from different ethnic origins, for instances, Indians, Pakistanis, Nepalese, Thais, Filipinos; so as white and Chinese people. They had been engaged in different performances including traditional and modern dance, yoga, band music, taekwondo and multi-cultural musical performance etc.

This year, we were delighted to have Mr. Lam Woon Kwong, the New Chairperson of Equal Opportunities Commission; Mr. Lau Yip Shing, the District Commander (Yau Tsim) of the Hong Kong Police; Ms Emily Lau, member of the Legislative Council and Mr. Leung Kwok-hung, member of the League of Social Democrats as our main officiating guests. Their presence symbolized the support to ethnic minority communities from different sectors of our society.

This year's carnival is held at the beautiful harbour front of Kowloon Peninsula (Hong Kong Cultural Center Piazza). Ethnic minority students and groups are engaged to participate in a variety of programs, including traditional and national dance, music, magic shows and game booths etc ...
